TWO Stonehaven mothers have achieved a "sell-out" in their first ever attempt to stage a day-long Craft Fair in the town.
All available 22 stalls at tomorrow's (Saturday) event in the Town Hall have been booked in advance by a variety of full and part-time workers from Fife, Tayside and Central Regions, as well as from throughout Grampian and, of course, the Mearns itse
lf.
Glass-blowing, herbal products, jewellery, silverware, pottery and lapidary will be among the crafts on show.
The local mums responsible for the venture are Mrs Catherine Evans, 46 Cameron Street, who specialises in patchwork, and Mrs Mary Stewart, 37 Farburn Drive, whose craft is press flower work.
Both pursue their talents on a part-time basis, as they still have young families.

THE flower show and games at Urie on Saturday were a great success.
The weather was charming, and the turnout the largest that has yet taken place, the drawings at the gate and grandstand amounting to about £70.
The exhibition of plants and industrial work was of more than average merit, and the racy speech of Miss Heather Duff was a fitting opening to an enjoyable afternoon's outing, in which our summer visitors largely participated, the privilege of visiting the beautiful gardens and grounds of Urie proving a strong attraction to them.

THE annual picnic and games for Fettercairn and district were held on bridge-end Park, Fettercairn, on Saturday.
Favoured with glorious weather, there was a larger gathering than usual, fully 1000 being present.
They were keen competition in all the sports, which were ably carried through by a large Committee.
Shortly after four o' clock, tea was served to the large crowd. In the open competitions, wrestling formed one of the chief features.
Dancing was heartily enjoyed to music supplied by Mr E. Dishington's string band.
Pipers D Fraser and P Mackay, Brechin, discoursed excellent bagpipe music, the latter also judging the dancing.
